Over and Out

"Hey, lady, you forgot your Don Quixote!"
It's impossibly hard to believe that it's the last day of the year. I really feel like I need to make another little roundup in addition to the 52 week photo project one I shared earlier. It's been a good year and not only because I forgot my Don Quixote at a bar and now have a fun (true!) story to tell, but because it has been filled with wonderful images (mental and photographic ones).

Here are some of my favourites from the  photos I shared here over the past year and that were not part of the 52 week project.

I haven't been around the world, but I have traveled thousands of kilometres. I have been to tens of exhibitions and concerts. I have spent awesome time with friends, old and new. I have started a photography blog and a Facebook page. I have taken thousands of photos, I have learned from my mistakes and success, too. So? A whole lot of small things that add up to a grand year! Thank you!

Roundup and Gratitude Time

Filled with fuzzy warm feelings now that the year is coming to its end. Not only 'cos there are tons of candles, food and good wishes.

So, about 12 months ago I wrote my first post with the emphasis on my 52 week photo project. I had no grand plans except to push myself to shoot-shoot-shoot. And guess what - it worked! I took a whole lot of photos regularly (not only when on a kick-ass trip) and (with slight fall backs) I managed to keep up with the project as well as with blogging. I think blogging regularly is challenging, but it is also rewarding. I have met couple of nice bloggers in the process and I have been pushed to share my photos. Couldn't really ask for more (worldwide fame, maybe?! haha).

Here's a small roundup of my favourite projects. Ten favourites in a chronological order and with my favourite shot from each one.

Stuff I learned? It really doesn't matter which camera you use. My favourite photos come from my Olympus E-420 (with 25mm lens) as well as my iPhone 4s and of course from my Canon 6D (with 24-105mm or 40mm lens). And of course the obvious got confirmed - the more you shoot the more you learn. Even though of course, one should't go overboard with shooting (at times guilty as charged). While I almost never shoot people then truly - my two shoots with friends as models were my favourites!

What's next? First of all I need to set up my new blog and homepage. I have decided to self host and have a little portfolio alongside a blog. Am currently teaching myself to be a smart IT person. Fingers crossed I get at least the blog up and running by new year.

I have a new 52 week photo project in store - hint: traveling. It's more of a retrospect (to push me to organise photos and re-live moments).

I am toying with a 365 project idea, but knowing myself... maybe I'll have something on Instagram. Maybe. Shooting something for 365 days has proved impossible in the past.

I will share it all here and on my Facebook page.

Enjoy what's left of 2013 and I hope Santa was kind to you! :)

Week 52: Red

It's the final week. Can't believe it. My little 52 week project has come to an end. The jar is empty. However, it's not yet the time to look back, but to post the results of the final week - red. Couldn't have asked for a more appropriate word for holiday time.

With the help of iPhone 4S, Camera+ and Over I created little virtual holiday cards. All with a touch of red.

The last one is a favourite for sentimental reasons. It's a small chocolate bar from Estonia and the text on it means: "I believe in Santa Claus." And I do. I do believe. :)

Have a wonderful holiday time, you all and thank you so much for stopping by! It means a lot!

Holiday Time

So, yes, I am now one of those people. Those people who throw dinner parties. Basically just 'cos I have the appropriate candle sticks.

So I had some awesome people over last night for some post-birthday and pre-Christmas dinner. Nothing fancy-pansy, but there was food. And drinks. And cutlery. I thought I'd snap some photos, but basically - who has time for photos when there are people, food and drinks?! However, here are some. My feeble attempt at dinner party photography. Sans people (whose dear faces on photos are for private use).

If you ever have extra 20 euros I would recommend spending it on a raclette machine 'cos melted cheese is the best thing ever. And while I had some special cheese from my trip to Switzerland then I can tell you - different Spanish cheese works as well. Of course my aim is not to preserve traditional approach and just go crazy with cheese. :)

Hope you have a lovely (and not too stressful) holiday time! Cheers!
